Welcome to the Hone Poker blog
Why we're starting a blog, and what you can expect: honest strategy, no filler, and the occasional look behind the curtain at how Hone is built.
Hone Poker exists because most poker “training” is either a firehose of theory you’ll never apply, or a chart you memorize and forget. We think the fastest way to improve is simple: play realistic hands, get graded on every decision, and understand the why behind the right play.
This blog is the written companion to that idea.
What you’ll find here
- Strategy that survives contact with a real table. Not solver dumps — concrete, situational advice you can use in your next session.
- Product updates. New training modes, new opponents, new features. We ship roughly weekly … and sometimes multiple times a day!
- How Hone works. The occasional look at how we grade decisions and model opponents.
- Tales from the tables. Stories of my experiences at the tables. The good and the bad.
Who this is for
Recreational players making the jump from home games to casino cash games and tournaments. If “I had a feeling” has ever cost you a buy-in, you’re in the right place.
Home games forgive your mistakes. Casinos and tournaments don’t.
New posts land here and in the RSS feed. No email required — though if you want the occasional update in your inbox, there’s a signup on the homepage.
See you at the tables.
